The Department of Dietary at PSG Hospitals was established in the year 1989 with the aim to provide good nutritional care to all the patients. The Department of Dietary is multi- faceted offering therapeutic diet which is prescribed by the doctors, conducting diet clinics and organizing diet camps. Individual and family counseling is available through full time dietitians.

Insurance

When a doctor plans for admission , the insurance staff will verify the ID Card, Photo Id, Policy Copy and gets the concerned pre-authorization form filled up and signed with the seal of the doctor. The Patient / attender has to sign and enter the contact number in the pre-auth form. The same is sent to TPA / IC along with relevant investigations reports in case of planned admission. This can be done up to 7 days prior to expected date of admission.

Lactation Education

PSG Super specialty Hospitals supports the Mothers in: how to increase milk supply, find the best nursing position, and manage breastfeeding pain. Women who deliver in PSG hospital will typically be seen by the lactation consultant as part of routine care who assess and treat both common and serious nursing problems.

The goal of palliative care is to improve quality of life. Palliative care specialists treat people living with chronic illnesses including cancer, cardiac disease such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), kidney failure, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and many more. Palliative care is also essential for patients with COVID-19.

Palliative care focuses on the symptoms and stress of the disease and the treatment. It treats a wide range of issues that can include pain, depression, anxiety, fatigue, shortness of breath, constipation, nausea, loss of appetite and difficulty sleeping.

The Pharmacy department at PSG Hospitals is responsible for dispensing medications daily for the inpatient and outpatient population. It consists of pharmacists and support personnel, who work together to ensure that patients receive highest quality pharmaceutical care.

Physiotheraphy

This specialty branch deals with the process of improving the functional abilities of patients with physical disabilities, injuries etc.

The department is also the teaching affiliate of the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research and the PSG College of Physiotherapy, thereby ensuring skill component training for budding doctors and physiotherapists.

Vaidhya – Home Health Service

‘Vaidya’ is a home-based healthcare service from PSG Hospitals which can be utilized by both normal patients and those who need palliative care. This service is launched in association with Coimbatore Cancer Foundation.
