The Pediatrics department at PSG Hospital is a well -equipped department training post graduates doctors in child health, which is capable of dealing with most neonatal and pediatric illnesses.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ( PICU)
A state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit of 8 beds with all modern facilities for monitoring and evaluation. All modes of treatment including ventilation is possible. Backed by 24 hours efficient laboratory support and trained and committed personnel, intensive care of sick children is now possible at a reasonable cost.
New Born Intensive Care Unit( NICU)
There is a basic NICU of 8 beds and an advanced NICU of 12 beds. The advanced neonatal Intensive Care Unit is temperature regulated and well equipped to handle prematurely born newborns, very low birth weight babies, babies with jaundice requiring exchange transfusion as well as those with infection and respiratory distress. Two Bear cub ventilators are available for ventilating neonates. Our results with babies as low as 1000gms in weight are comparable with the best in the region.
There are adequate numbers of warmers, phototherapy units and incubators together with facilities for central oxygen and suction, to cater to any neonatal problems.
Video endoscopy aided diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower G.1. endoscopy are done in children. This unit is a referral centre for liver diseases in children. Jaundice of infants, glycogen storage disease and metabolic liver diseases are managed here. Enteral and Parenteral nutrition therapy for chronic diarrhea is also being done.
The pediatric ward has 45 beds in the general ward and is spacious and attractive for children. In addition, private rooms are available for those who so desire. A well equipped treatment and procedure room adjoins the ward. Nutritious diet to suit individual illnesses is given to children under the supervision of a dietician.
A general OPD functions on all days except Sunday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.
Unit I : Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
mmunization day - Wednesday.
Unit 2 : Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Immunization day - Saturday.
There is a qualified pediatrician on duty in the hospital 24 hours a day to cater to any emergency. The casualty is well equipped and all children brought to casualty are seen at the earliest by the duty casualty medical officer. If deemed necessary the duty Pediatrician is called to manage the child.
